Dive Details and Sites

First Dive
Your first dive is along one of our many beautiful walls beginning between 40’ and 60’ and dropping 6,000’ into the Tongue of the Ocean. On average our walls begin at 40 feet, although some are deeper. Each dive site along the wall is different and unique in its own way. The wall is wonderful for both new and advanced divers. Your divemaster leads the dives to 70 feet for 30 minutes, although we are flexible around this for those with computers or if you and your buddies may prefer to stay up on the shallower ledge while others may plan their dive a bit deeper.
Second Dive
Your second dive is either a shallow reef, movie site or wreck dive. There are a number beautiful reefs each with different coral formations and fish life. You may explore a 100 foot freighter in 50 feet of water; or the famous James Bond wreck in 40 feet of water or you may dive on the Cessna used in the filming of JAWS. We decide on the specific site we will be diving on the actual dive day. This keeps us flexible and gives us an idea of what the best weather conditions are and what everyone on the boat would prefer to do.
The staff at Fin Photo are available to shoot still pictures of you and the scenery of this dive so that you have a memento of your underwater experiences to take home. (Additional fee involved.) All prices are correct as of the revision date listed at the bottom of this page. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Afternoon 2-Tank Dive Trip

Our afternoon 2-tank trip operates much like our morning 2-tank dive. A key difference between morning and afternoon trips is that in the mornings all of our boats do a 2-tank dive trip. In the afternoons we offer specialty dives and each boat is doing something different. We decide on the specific site we will be diving on the actual dive day. This keeps us flexible and gives us an idea of what the best weather conditions are and what everyone on the boat would prefer to do. Your program includes complimentary round trip transfers from your hotel, and the use of tanks, weights, and weight belts. Your boat comes with fresh drinking water and ice. Excludes: Dive Gear and Wetsuit (rentals available on site), snacks, and other beverages besides water, and tips to crew.

Night Dive

Night dives at Stuart Cove’s are 1-tank boat trips which can be scheduled to go out any night of the week. The only requirement the dive shop has is that night dives must have a minimum of 6 divers for the trip to depart. Typically night dive trips visit one of our shipwrecks. We do not sell night dives in advance unless there is a group of 6 or more. Typically the dive shop is able to get a night dive out on either Friday or Saturday night. If you are interested in doing a night dive, simply let the girls at the dive check-in desk know and they will assist you selecting a night and locating additional divers.

Dive Details and Sites
First Dive
Your first dive is a “Free Swim” with the sharks on a magnificent wall. The sharks will follow you throughout the dive because we are close to our feeding site and they know the dinner bell will ring soon. However, no bait is exposed on this dive. This keeps the sharks curious and creates a very natural encounter for divers – just as you would encounter a shark in the wild.
Second Dive
Your second dive is a shark feeding dive. Unlike ordinary dives – you will spend this dive kneeling on the sand bottom. Divers form a semicircle in front of our professional shark feeder who will place a bait box. Your feeder utilizes this bait box and a pole spear to control the release of food which influences the sharks behavior. While novice shark divers may not notice it – during the shark feeding dives your feeder tries to keep the sharks in a “polite” feeding posture. However be warned – the sharks will come close – very close – but they are more interested in the bait than you!
The staff at Fin Photo are available to shoot still pictures of you and the scenery of this dive so that you have a memento of your underwater experiences to take home. (Additional fee involved.) All prices are correct as of the revision date listed at the bottom of this page. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Out Island Seafari

This all day trip will give divers a chance to experience some of the “Out Islands” of the Bahamas. Your day long trip begins by crossing to the other side of the Tongue-of-the-Ocean and visiting Andros Island. This is approximately a 25 mile voyage and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Included in this specialty program are beverages and a picnic lunch.
First Dive
Your first dive will be a “blue hole”. These are natural caves where a part of the roof has collapsed creating a “hole” with stalagmites still pointing up from the floors, and stalactites hanging down from the remaining ceiling areas. This dive is considered an advanced dive as you will reach depths of 130 feet.
Second Dive
Your second dive is along the pristine Andros wall. Similar to the walls on the New Providence side, the Andros area is only dived by a few divers each year. Thus you will see magnificent coral growth and large amounts of marine life. A third site will also be visited. This may be another wall dive, or a shallow reef.
