Cruise Ships

Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas

Nassau is known as one of the most popular Port-of-Calls for cruise ships and consequently, many of our guests arrive on cruise ships as well.

You and your friends who will be arriving on a cruise ship are able to enjoy all of the diving, snorkeling, and personal submarine programs offered by Stuart Cove’s. For each activity, we offer complimentary transfers to and from the cruise ship docks. If you are a diver, traveling with non-diving companions – you can still enjoy an afternoon of adventure either together – or on separate boats based on your activity choices. Our pick-up and drop off times are the same.

When pre-booking with us as a cruise ship passenger, we need you to find out from your cruise line two important pieces of information:

1. What time do you arrive in port and when can you disembark (get off) the ship?

2. When do you have to be back on board the ship?

With this information, we can determine which programs you can join us for. For planning purposes we suggest that you add 30 minutes to your scheduled arrival time in order to allow you to get off the boat and get through customs. That would be the earliest time we can pick you up.

For many of our passengers, a typical schedule offers an 7:00 am arrival and a departure between 9pm and 2am. The 7:00 am arrival makes the morning pick-up difficult to guarantee because if your ship is delayed or you get hung up in customs, our bus can not wait. A such, a popular choice is to book an afternoon water adventure and utilize your morning hours exploring the straw markets and historic downtown Nassau.

Our “normal” schedule for cruise passengers would be:

Morning Trips Afternoon Trips Description
7:45 am 11:45 am Meet the Stuart Cove bus in front of the Tourist Information Center. (We ask that you are at the pick-up area :15 minutes early as it is on a public one-way street. As such, our bus can not sit and wait for guests who are not there when the bus pulls up.)
9:00 am 1:00 pm Depart for your trip.
12:00 noon 4:00 pm Return from your trip. (Except Shark Dives)
12:30 pm 4:30 pm First bus departs for drops back at the cruise ship.
5:15 pm Return to Cruise Ship Docks
5:00 pm Shark Boat Returns
5:45 pm Last bus departs
6:20 pm Shark Dive passengers dropped at cruise ship docks.

The exception to the above timetable is if you are traveling on Holland America, a Disney Cruise Lines, or a Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines ship. Stuart Cove’s Aqua Adventures is contractually bound with HAL to provide diving, snorkeling and SUB experiences; with Disney for 2-tank dives: and with Royal Caribbean for 2-tank dives and SUB experiences to some of their ships when they visit Nassau. If your ship is one that we are contracted to provide services for, the cruise line has arranged for special charter times to make the excursion work. In this situation, you will have to book your excursion directly with the cruise line or once on board the ship. This will ensure the proper pick-ups and services are provided to you.

The above times are estimates and may be impacted by traffic delays and weather conditions.
